All HMS band students are highly encouraged to enroll in private lessons. The band staff at Henry has assembled a fantastic staff of private lesson instructors for the 2015-16 school year. Private lessons offer your child a unique experience that he or she cannot receive in a regular classroom setting. If you choose to participate in the program, your son or daughter will meet with a private instrumental specialist once a week at an arranged time. Lesson times range from twenty minutes to an hour. During this time, your student will have 100% of the instructor’s attention. These lessons will be geared toward helping your son or daughter become a truly great musician by teaching them how to improve their musical skills. While we as a band staff strive to work with each student regularly, we are limited because of class size and time. We feel that private lessons are a wonderful resource and that its contributes a great amount to the student’s musical success. Please contact Mrs. Johnstone if you have any questions regarding private lessons at (512) 570.3452 or at Rachel.Johnstone@leanderisd.org.
We understand that there may be a need for financial assistance for your student to participate in the private lesson program. Financial assistance is reserved for the families/students with extenuating circumstances (personal/financial) that participating in private lessons would cause undue hardship. This program does not provide free lessons, but share costs with the family. Financial assistance is not guaranteed. Lessons will not begin until your application has been reviewed by LISD, an offer has been made, and your acceptance has been given.
Please indicate on the Online Enrollment Form whether or not you will be seeking Grant Assistance for private lessons.
If you are ready to enroll in private lessons, please select the “Enrollment” option from the “Private Lessons” tab on the toolbar above, or click here to access the Online Enrollment Form.
